Alexandra Bryksa, Czech Republic

Artist, designer, illustrator, owner of La Lesia Gallery in Barcelona, founder of the non-profit organization Mezinárodní organizace akvarelistů pro Českou republiku, z.s., tutor of watercolour media country head of IWS Czech Republic (International Association of Watercolour for the Czech Republic)2016-2022, Leader of Czech artists in Urbino 2018, Leader of Czech and Slovak artists in FabrianoinAcquarello 2021-2022, organizer and curator of the 1stInternational Watercolour Festival of IWS in Prague, Czech Republic. 

I have graduated from the Pedagogical College with a teaching degree for primary school and Ukrainian Academy of Printing in Lviv with a Master’s degree.

Since 1993, I have been living in beautiful town Prague. Here, influenced by the beauty of the city, I have been creating my art in a variety of media. The first series of my works was a collection of watercolours called "Mysterious Corners of Prague". I have been working in various techniques and my paintings have been exhibited in a number of local galleries. My paintings are in private collections as well as public institutions such as the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Delhi, India, the Embassy of Pakistan in Prague, Czech Republic,  the Embassy of Ukraine in Prague, CzechRepublic, The Paper and Watermark Museum in Fabriano, Italy, City Art Gallery in Urbino, Italy,  Museum of Watercolour in Tlaloc, Mexico, Alfredo Guati Rojo National Watercolour Museum in Mexico City, Mexico, Bi-Cultural  Center USA-Costa Rica, San Jose and Hong Museum of Watercolour, Zhuji China. Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Corea.


My paintings were awarded several international awards for the contribution to art such as FACE International Women Leadership Award 2017, India, Honourable Artist Award, Kosovo, Cultural Top 20 Award, Nepal, Happiness in Watercolour Award, Dubai,  Pearls of Peace Honorable Award, Pakistan, Special Guest Award, Costa Rica. Master Award, South Korea….

In 2015 I  became a member of the International Watercolor Association and in 2016 I become a country head of IWS Czech Republic. Since then I have been actively involved in the promotion of this organization and represent the Czech Republic at international exhibitions and symposia and brings together a community of Czech watercolour artists who can present themselves and country abroad.

At present I’m mainly interested in watercolour painting. The magic of this media fascinates and drives me to create increasingly challenging themes. Watercolour painting has no boundaries and allows for the creation of masterpieces that can compare with other media. My artistic pallet consists of different watercolor brands but mainly watercolor paints of Ukrainian brand ROSA, French paper Arches, 300 g, cold press, Catalan brushes Escoda, Korean brushes EOEO

Stanislaw Zoladz, Sweden

Stanislaw Zoladz, born in Poland in 1952, moved to Sweden after completing his art education at the Art Academy in Krakow in 1978. Since then he has been active as a full-time artist in Sweden.  He’s participating in many international exhibitions over the world. He has been recognised as “master of watercolours “ after years of painting and many prizes in international competitions.  Stanislaw’s words about his art:  "Nature has always been my source of inspiration, it dominates my works. In the summer I paint in the archipelago. I wait for the sun's reflections on wet rocks, catch shadows, reflections in water and paint stones under the water's surface.   My paintings do not provoke, they lack a direct message, they do not depict the present, but they should make the viewer stop and reflect. I only paint when I myself experience something that touches me and that is the feeling I want to pass on to the viewer"

Watercolor International 6 - Thessaloniki, Greece

Watercolor International 6 is the sixth edition of the Biennial of Watercolor organised in Thessaloniki, Greece. WI started as an invitational-only exhibition with a very high level of the participating artists. Lately, as there has been a great interest from more artists to have a chance to participate, we have an additional juried selection (through an Open Call).  The aim of WI is to present the best of contemporary watercolor and to promote this beautiful medium. The exhibition will open on September 26th, 2023 in Thessaloniki.  It will last till the end of October. Several events, demonstrations, workshops, sightseeing tours and more will be organised during the exhibition. Many awards, cash and art material, will be given as well. Stay tuned...
