Lisa Franklin, USA


Lisa Arnold Franklin was born in Atlanta, GA, USA and she was raised in Miami, FL, USA. She studied Interior Design for two years and earned her B. S. in Architectural Engineering. Since 2017, she devotes full attention to her artwork and lives in Tequesta, FL, USA. Her paintings create rhythmic geometric arrangements juxtaposed with various color combinations producing depth and dimension. Lisa invites the viewer to move into a space of imagination and intrigue. 

In 2023, Lisa has been accepted into the Miami Watercolor Exhibition, Won 2nd Place, Illinois Watercolor Exhibition, Won Outstanding Abstract/Non-representional, San Diego Watercolor Society's Exhibition, South Carolina Watermedia Show, Society of Watercolor Artists, Southern Watercolor Exhibition, Tallahassee Tri-State Exhibition, Watercolor International 6, and Women in Watercolor. 

She holds Signature Status with the Georgia Watercolor Society, Illinois Watercolor Society, Miami Watercolor Society, International Society of Experimental Artists, Philadelphia Water Color Society, Tallahassee Watercolor Society and South Carolina Watermedia Society.

I graduated from the Institute  from the  the Moscow state academic art Institute named after V. I. Surikov at the Russian Academy of arts. Born in 1948, trained as a chartered accountant and initially not part of the art world, I got into watercolor in the early 90s, by the greatest of chance, seduced by the phenomenon of pigment fusion. At the end of 1998, I deepened my experience first with Roland Palmaerts both during course sessions and during outdoor internships. I also flitted with other renowned watercolor artists in order to take stock of other ways of seeing this wonderful medium. After having essentially treated landscapes and flowers, I have devoted myself since 2014 to constructed abstraction which combines geometric rigor based on prime numbers while favoring the flexibility of forms and the evanescence of colored gradations. I wish to show, among other things, that, notwithstanding such a precise and rigorous construction, the global vision entails a difficulty in perceiving the exact reality of things.
